Mass Planner Gets Shut Down By Instagram! Who’s Next?

Wow!!  The Mass Planner social media automation software giant has been shut down by Instagram today!

If you go to their website, you will get this below:

Mass Planner Shut Down

We are sorry, but at the request of Instagram we have been forced to close our service.

Mass Planner Gone??

Such a bummer!!

Their official announcement to their customers about today’s news was sent out in spurts so the news spread like wild fire across the globe!

Today’s shut down of Mass Planner is not the only one!  PeerBoost, InstaPlus, and FanHarvest were also shut down by Instagram today!

With Instagress‘ shut down last month on April 20th, this makes Instagram really out on a rampage within the last 30 days!!

There are many others too like InstaEasy that are already gone. Wow!  Who else is next on the chopping block??

Did you get the letter from them and does your Mass Planner software still work?

If it still works, how long do you think it’ll continue to work for?

Remember this is a software, not a website, so how can Instagram shut down all of Mass Planner’s customers who are currently using this on their computers/laptops?

My #1 Recommended Training Program That Really Teaches You How To Make Money Online

It’s interesting because Mass Planner not only provide automation services for Instagram & Facebook but many other social media platforms too like Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, and more.

So not sure how they can shut down their entire operation?  Or could they?

The automation services Mass Planner provides are so awesome because they have a LOT of tools and functions like:

  • Liking posts
  • Following real people’s accounts
  • Unfollowing accounts
  • Block accounts
  • Commenting
  • Joining Groups/Communities
  • Direct Messaging
  • Scheduling
  • and a lot more!

What Does This Mean For Us?

With this shut down, if it’s permanent, it will mean we are back to organic growth or advertise on these two social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook.

Facebook being notorious for making people pay to get any of our Fan Page posts seen.

While Instagram account engagement keeps getting lower and lower as they more and more turn into Facebook.

Advertising sucks because they don’t always work that well if you don’t know what you’re doing and you’re spending up the wah-zoo!

So, Back To The Basics?

Organic growth kind of sucks as we all know and SLOW as hell, so that’s why we turn to these softwares to build our accounts.

But who has cash for advertising?  If you don’t advertise, then they suppress your posts unless your content is super engaging or relatively “famous” on their platforms.

Going back to basics is having great content, it all starts with that.

If it’s on Instagram, your content needs to be visually engaging because most people don’t even read your captions!

Your content needs to spark interest, feeling, and an urge to click the little heart icon.

This is why posting just product shots never get you any engagement for a lot of shop accounts on Instagram.

If you are to stop using these automation services, you need to go back to your account and check your content and see you can improve going forward to keep or improve your engagement.

My #1 Recommended Training Program That Really Teaches You How To Make Money Online

Any Mass Planner Alternatives?

There’s one more that people are flocking to and that’s FollowLiker – not as good as Mass Planner, of course, but it will have to do until that gets shut down too!

I’m sure this won’t last too much longer since Instagram is out to get everyone it seems.

AND Guess What?

People’s accounts are being banned already so if I were you, I would turn off all tools for Facebook & Instagram to hopefully won’t see any bans or shut downs of your own accounts.

Not sure if the bans occurred on Facebook or Instagram, but the Black Hat World forum has been on fire today too on this topic and a few people have mentioned this! Yikes!!

I’m truly sad for all the masses that use Mass Planner and the recent ones that just signed up.

How will all this shake out, I am not sure and it will take some time for Mass Planner to get it all figured out.

Hopefully, this will get fixed hopefully and all is well!

Wishful thinking??  🙂

I think they should tell Instagram where to stick it.

  2. ad May 12, 2017 at 1:33 pm #

    it fuckign sucks

  3. Kylie May 12, 2017 at 1:51 pm #

Wow, they really are serious about shutting people down – I heard about it a while ago and have started using the app Plann – it doesn’t automate but at least won’t have my account t shut down. Can’t believe Instagram can shut their whole business down?!

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 12, 2017 at 2:06 pm #

I don’t think that’s finalized yet, not sure if they can shut down their entire business since they offer their services on many other social media platforms. May I ask for Plann does?

For Mass Planner’s sake, I hope they can still keep it running for the other social media platforms.

  4. KT May 12, 2017 at 2:42 pm #

Does anyone know any mass planner alternatives that can follow/unfollow?

  5. Anthony May 12, 2017 at 3:11 pm #

I’ve got a 100 accnts on mass planner . The whole community on BHW is going crazy . It means that even FL is going to shut down . Wonder if MP will find some other solution to this problem . They were the best out there so far. I’m so stressed now !!

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 12, 2017 at 3:40 pm #

OMG! I feel for you! 100 accounts! Were they all Instagram accounts?? I was on BHW too and everyone is panicking. Mass Planner by far was the best software out there so I hope they can find a solution too! FollowLike I’m sure is the next to go… not sure what to even recommend now!

  6. Meranda Devan May 12, 2017 at 5:22 pm #

This is devastating news!! Are you saying you have heard those using mass planner will have their accounts shut down on pinterest or facebook?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 12, 2017 at 10:16 pm #

I’m unclear which ones are being shut down or on which platform but it sounds like those who had lots of accounts like a 100 on a platform to have half of them wiped out.

  7. peter May 13, 2017 at 12:20 am #

any other group posting tool you can recommended, ugh this sucls

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 13, 2017 at 12:42 am #

For a scheduling tool, I have found these but not sure if they all do group posting like Mass Planner:

      – SproutSocial
      – Later

Also not sure if these will be shut down too! 😐

      • Seeban June 30, 2017 at 5:40 am #

Don’t think these tools will get shut down since they work with Facebook’s Graph API. However, as an alternative to Mass Planner, I have been using tools from Dominatorhouse, which are currently closest to MP. Another one I liked to use was FollowLiker but I feel doubtful to go with them, as they probably are the next to Instagram’s list.

        • Grace June 30, 2017 at 9:06 am #

Any API will be detectable by them and will shut them down eventually. Thanks for your suggestions though, it’s up to anyone using them to do their own research and see if they are good enough. I can’t imagine FollowLiker to last that much longer.

  8. Netwalk May 13, 2017 at 2:47 am #

Why does massplanner still work if it is closed?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 13, 2017 at 8:58 am #

I believe this is temporary, they probably can’t take on anymore new clients until they are kosher with Instagram. They service many other social media platforms so not sure what they need to do to open up their services again to new customers.

  9. Elizabeth May 13, 2017 at 8:01 am #

Thats sad, Instagram wants the best for their users by shutting down the content on Instagram will be better in terms of quality.
The worst part is as I have heard Instagram requesting usernames and payment histories of that services. In any ways I think it needs to stop, we do need automation services.

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 13, 2017 at 9:04 am #

      Hi Elizabeth,

Wow! I wonder if they can really do that, requesting usernames and payment history of their clients. Wouldn’t that info be confidential and agreed to clients not to provide to third party??

I agree with you that automation is necessary in this day and age. The services that Mass Planner and a lot of these bot services provide can all be manually done but who in the world has the time to do all that manually?!

Mass Planner is a huge time saver and necessary these days to be efficient in our businesses these days.

Thanks for your thoughts and stopping by,

  10. Ani May 13, 2017 at 12:31 pm #

    Hi Grace,
I recently bought the MP software (on your recommendation, thanks for that) and I said to myself that I finally found the right thing. But, unfortunately I received an email from the admin yesterday, telling the bad news. I am so sad that I am losing very good tool.

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 13, 2017 at 1:12 pm #

Hi Ani, I feel for you for sure. We don’t know how this will all turn out but I’m hopeful Mass Planner will have a solution for their loyal customers.

I will certainly update if I hear anything else.

Thank you for taking on my recommendation!

  11. Peter May 13, 2017 at 10:33 pm #

Just got an email from them, the platform is close for new users only thank god (lower case intended)

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 13, 2017 at 11:30 pm #

Yeah I am hearing from others as well but I’m weary about what’s really going on behind the scenes.

  12. Jacob Cosquer May 13, 2017 at 11:57 pm #

What a bummer!! What should I do with my MP account?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 14, 2017 at 12:13 pm #

You should probably just email them to see what you should do with your account, and ask for refunds.

  13. Rohit Gupta May 14, 2017 at 12:04 pm #

I think they should put up some boundations on the activities . and mass massplanner should try to remove instagram from the section and keep the rest services .

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 14, 2017 at 12:14 pm #

Hi Rohit, I agree, Mass Planner will probably do that in the future so new clients can still use it for the other social media platforms.

      Have a great day!

  14. Chris May 14, 2017 at 7:45 pm #

I am very surprised it has taken Instagram so long to crack down on these tools -they have been in violation of Instagrams term of service for years. Automated following and unfollowing will never be available from the big tools (and in case you didnt know Twitter banned it years ago as well, and teh same thing occurred, lots of tools shut down).
If you want to schedule posts then you need to use a platform that has a mobile app to complete the process -the apps have obtained approval from Instagram to do this

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 14, 2017 at 10:56 pm #

All the things you can do on Mass Planner can be done manually, this is just an automation tool. The Follow/Unfollow method will never go away because we will still do it manually which will take so much longer.

Also, this still happens on Twitter so not sure what you’re talking about that it’s not happening on there.

Why is it okay to schedule posts (automation) but not automate other actions?

We are SO busy these days with millions of tasks to do, why can’t we automate these actions to grow our social media accounts? I don’t see any problems with automation…. and it’s encouraged in all other business aspects in manufacturing and making manually processes more efficient in many companies, why is this any different? Why is is SO bad that we want to automate these tedious tasks of liking posts and following people?

It’s NOT bad and think Mass Planner and similar software should be allowed to provide efficiency for our businesses too!

      • Jozef July 10, 2017 at 5:57 am #

Why is automation on Instagram bad? For a single reason – there are people on the other side, people you keep bothering with your worthless likes and automated comments. And you are just toying with these real people – ever heard of dopamine?

You are just a spammer. For what good is a “social” platform when most of the activity there is provided by bots who exchange worthless likes and comments? Don´t you feel cheap when you send your bot to follow the accounts of thousands people and the moment they follow you back, you throw them overboard?

I did quit Instagram because of the automation. My engagement level was pretty high, but still I got regularly spammed by dozens of likes, follows and comments, obviously from bots. Thank you, not interested. I am not interested in interacting with bots. As long as they litter the Instagram, I will stay away from it.

        • Grace July 10, 2017 at 3:38 pm #

The marketing strategies that people use to automate their actions is not always agreeable by all which is fine. You don’t have to use it and good that you’re off Instagram since you don’t like it.

For the people that use it, it’s a time saver. We could be doing the same thing that MP does but would need several humans to do the same job.

Automation is about being proficient and efficient. That’s why many industries automate. Artificial Intelligence will surely take over our production soon in the near future, we can’t always rely on just humans to do the job that a robot can do in 1/10 of the speed of humans.

It’s the same as scheduling posts and other automated social media functions that seem to be okay but it’s not okay to like and follow people? Doesn’t make sense.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your side of perspective,

  15. Meranda May 15, 2017 at 2:40 pm #

Thank you Grace for keeping up with all this information. So if I am understanding correctly…. existing customers can keep using MP… and renew their license as well?

What tools in MP are causing peoples accounts to be taken away? Any ideas?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 15, 2017 at 3:57 pm #

Hi Meranda, Yes I’m just keeping informed reading all the forums but we really don’t know what’s going to happen, especially in the near future. If you have it, try using it, if you can use it, then keep using it until you can’t. I would just email Mass Planner to ask if you can renew, and if you can, you should probably do so before it expires.

The accounts that have been taken away are crazy spammers who opens 100’s of accounts, unrelated to what they use in Mass Planner. You won’t have anything to worry about it if you don’t do that.

Mass Planners tools are not detectable and have not been all this time. Instagram has shut them down probably because they have become so darn popular! Otherwise, Instagram can’t tell which accounts are using the software.

However, who knows what’s happening behind the scenes!!

      Best of luck to you,

  16. Bricktowntom May 17, 2017 at 10:39 am #

I do not have mine connected to Instagram!! but I am setting up LinkedIn and I do have it connected to Twitter so at this point I may continue to use it in those media outlets. Hate to lose it on Facebook!! I have tried many programs over the years and this one was the best but I guess all of them bite the dust LOL

Here are some alternatives you may want to look at. The main consideration being the program is Windows based meaning it is loaded on your hard drive and posts from your computer. Any of the API stuff that you have to get permission from Facebook and load it in the API section of Facebook is not recommended.

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 18, 2017 at 11:26 am #

Hi there, Mass Planner by far has been the best social media automation software out there, many users have confirmed this. And yes, you can grow so many social media accounts, it’s awesome.

Not sure if this will ever be available to us again, I hope they will rise again to accept new customers soon, even if they have to take off Instagram and Facebook.

The link to alternatives aren’t really alternatives for Mass Planner as they don’t even do what MP does. It’s not a great list. Lol

      Appreciate you stopping by though!

    • Ralf June 12, 2017 at 1:46 pm #

      Hey Bricktowntom,

Why is software that uses the Facebook Graph API not recommended? I found a good alternative for MassPlanner that uses the API.

  17. Christie May 18, 2017 at 12:54 am #

I was just about to sign up for it, I guess I missed the boat. Anymore information about following. I don’t want to get shut down for doing it too fast and then I need some tool to unfollow my current account, is there a tool that does that on its own?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 18, 2017 at 11:29 am #

Hi Christie, at this point there is no good alternatives but maybe FollowLiker but I’m sure they will be shut down soon too.

You will need to implement the strategies manually without a software, you can review this post here I have to see how to implement what was done on Mass Planner but do it yourself.

  18. J May 21, 2017 at 6:51 pm #

so good news for current customers guys, i just asked customer service if i wouldn’t be able to use it once my subscription expires and here’s what was said: (DELETED)

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 21, 2017 at 10:07 pm #

Sorry J, Mass Planner does not allow me to post email conversations here so I had to delete it.

If you have any questions with Mass Planner, email them if you can.

      Good luck! 🙂

  19. D May 22, 2017 at 10:31 am #

You said “remember this is a software, not a website, so how can Instagram shut down all of Mass Planner’s customers”.

Maybe I am missing something but couldn’t instagram just revoke their API key? Did they really need to send a cease and desist letter?

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 22, 2017 at 11:01 am #

That’s why Mass Planner is so awesome, it doesn’t use API. That problem IG fixed last year in Oct or something when they kicked out all the apps using API. Mass Planner is not detectable and mimics human interaction.

IG only noticed because Mass Planner got so popular.

  20. Andrew May 26, 2017 at 3:49 pm #

    Have anyone tried Forestgram?
Friends from neighbour office of marketing agency were talking about it over the lunch today

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now May 30, 2017 at 8:18 pm #

No, but from the looks of it, it’s way too expensive for what it CANNOT do. I don’t recommend that at all.

      • Andrew June 5, 2017 at 12:25 pm #

Well it does everything and much more than others.

        • Grace | Work Anywhere Now June 5, 2017 at 3:18 pm #

I guess you will use what you can get these days. Although Mass Planner has the worse customer service lately.

  21. alexis June 6, 2017 at 7:13 am #

Guys, why not to try Combin – organic tool to grow Instagram, it has follow/unfollow feature and some other handy features as well.

    • Grace | Work Anywhere Now June 6, 2017 at 3:36 pm #

That’s not an organic tool, in IG’s eyes, any software or web service that you use to gain followers is a violation of their terms & conditions, so I’m sure that will be shut down as well.

  22. Greg August 29, 2017 at 4:19 am #

That sucks it’s shut down, I wanted to try it.

    • Grace August 29, 2017 at 10:52 am #

      Yes, unfortunately, that’s what’s happened.
