WHAT IS MICROWORKERS?

Microworkers Logo

Program Name: Microworkers

Website: microworkers.com

Price: Free for Workers

Recommended? No

Microworkers is a crowdsourcing platform where you can be matched with companies or individuals who are in need to have small online tasks to be performed or completed for them.

The task owners will pay Microworkers to get the work done and then Microworkers will pay you for actually doing the tasks.

Microworkers Home Page

The tasks can be as small as following someone on Facebook, like a YouTube video, looking at ads, or as big as writing ad campaigns, installing or testing apps, surfing a website, testing websites, transcription tasks, and much more.

You will be earning money for the tasks you complete and if the owner of the task approves it.

Everyone that uses the platform must register on their site and you’ll receive $1 for registering.  You will then earn another $9 doing the tasks to be able to pay out from the Microworkers site so $10 is the minimum payout amount.

Some of the tasks may seem odd because it can be literally anything, whatever the owner of the task wants, and you’ll have around 100 of tasks to choose from so that’s nice there are a variety for you.

However, there are more complaints about Microworkers than anything else so let’s take a look at some of the things you should be aware of if you’re going to try this out.

HOW MICROWORKERS REALLY WORKS

Before doing work at Microworkers, I thought it would be good for you to know about some of the concerns that are out there I found on SiteJabber.com and complaintsboard.com.

I have summarized my findings below:

The Pay

The first thing everyone is concerned with, in any opportunity, is whether the program pays or not.  Although Microworkers has a minimum payout rate of $10, people sometimes have to wait a long time to get their payouts.

There have been reports of payouts for sure but the process is very tiresome and long for some, to never receiving any payments.

There is a PIN you will need in order to get paid that seems very hard to get because the first PIN you receive comes in the mail and that could be a 2 week wait right there.

Then, if you don’t get it, you’ll have to wait longer for them to send it again, some even waiting 35 days or more.

Once you get the PIN in the mail and verify the PIN on the site, you’ll be able to get your first payment.  The other PINs will then be sent to you via email.  Not sure why you need so many PINs which is really unheard of.

On the flip side, as a task owner who wants to advertise their tasks at Microworkers, there have been reports how they don’t refund the balance of what they had deposited into their account at Microworkers.

It seems that even though their tasks are not completed, they still have to pay and any balance they haven’t used, it’s really hard to get back if they even can get it back.

Not Enough Work

Another complaint I found was that this Microworkers site has way less offers than other sites like Amazon’s Mechanical Turk or Picoworkers.

Microworkers offers you about 100 tasks at any one time to do which may seem like a lot but other sites like Amazon’s MTurk has thousands of tasks offered.

If you don’t like the tasks on Microworkers, then you may want to check out other platforms and add to your plate another source to go to for work.

Many people who do this type of work, do so on several sites to make it worth while.

Low Pay

Doing these types of tasks won’t be making you much money and most of the tasks on Microworkers is about $2 or much less.

Guess most of the tasks are small like doing something liking/following/commenting/sharing on social media or very simple things like checkout a website or view an ad, so you can’t expect much for doing those tasks.

Some report you can make around Microworkers $50 a month, if that, so that’s why it’s necessary to go on multiple sites if you want to do this type of work.

Tasks or Scams?

Some of the tasks involved are for you to submit your personal information and I would be careful with these types of offers since you can be jeopardizing your personal information.

Microworkers does not screen the tasks that are offered so there can be many scams as well so if you’re asked to provide personal info, then you’ll be smart to avoid those.

If you submit, you may be lots of spam, sales calls or junk mail at your house that you don’t want so avoid these types of tasks if possible.

Account Shut Downs

There’s also been reports about accounts being shut down for no reason in the account owners’ eyes, so not sure why Microworkers don’t communicate clearly why the accounts get shut down.

It’s safe to say that you shouldn’t have multiple accounts though, if they detect this, they will shut you down for sure.

Always try to play by the rules so you don’t run into this one problem.

Customer Service Slow

They have customer service and they seem to respond but very slow and in some cases they don’t respond after you have 2 or more replies to them.

If you have any problems, you should keep emailing them to get your problem resolved but this is typical of sites like this where customer service is very poor so I’m not surprised.

IS MICROWORKERS A SCAM?

I would not call Microworkers a scam because for the most part they do pay but, for some reason, some workers do experience huge delays with this PIN process.

Payments for this type of work/site should be pretty quick in my opinion, I don’t know why they need to have PIN verification.

However, even if you do get paid, your pay is really not that much at Microworkers and you’ll have to be doing TONS of tasks to make it worthwhile for you.

I think it’s actually easier to earn money on other sites like Swagbucks (read review here) and Fusion Cash (read review here) since they both give you sign up bonuses and they have way less payment issues for sure.

On those two sites, you’ll be doing tasks like filling out surveys, taking up offers, watching videos, playing games, etc to earn money.

Each have different payout minimums but both are really legitimate and well known.

So because there are better options out there, I do not recommend you using Microworkers.

WHAT IF YOU WANT MORE?

Is there another option if you want to earn more than what’s offered at those get-paid-to (GPT) sites?  The answer is yes.

With GPT sites, you are definitely capped at the income potential you can earn online but they could come in handy while you’re building a new online business since building an online business does take some time.

However, if you skipped the GPT sites and just use that time to build your online business then you’ll see results much faster since you’ll be working on your business much more.

  1. What a time waster indeed. Tried to sign up and got the verification email, clicked the verification link which took me to a page that says “oops you’ve waited over 24hrs and the link expired” or something, when in reality I did this all in less than 2 minutes so how could it have expired? and then it took me back to the “create account” page and asked me to fill out all that sign up info all over again! what a joke. will not be wasting any more of my time with this crap

  2. I’ve a withdrawable on micworker site from 19/5 till now, still pending ! I think they are not legit, I wonder why they take too long to withdraw ?

    • You should try to contact them and ask them questions, have you tried asking them why it’s taking so long?

These types are sites are very borderline scam because they may start off paying people just so they have proof that they do pay and then after awhile people get all sorts of problems getting paid from these sites because they turn out not to be legit anymore.

Please let me know if you have tried contacting, how many times, and if they replied with any answers to you. It doesn’t sound like they have but you will need to confirm this.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it will help others to think about whether they will join this program or not.
