There’s been a lot of upset members at ClixSense because on July 17, 2017 the owner, Jim Grago, decided to remove all PTC off his website so members can no longer make money viewing ads and members are no longer able to advertise on there either.
It’s a huge decision for ClixSense to make since many members have been enjoying making money from clicking on ads and made it an easy way for them to earn some extra money.
Without PTC, will members still remain and what can they do to make money?
Is it even worth our time to remain a member at ClixSense?
I will review what this all means and its impact in the following sections:
- Bye Bye PTC
- Can You Still Make Money with ClixSense?
- Is ClixSense Still Worth Your Time?
- Alternative To Making Pennies
If you don’t want to waste anymore time earning pennies,
see My #1 Recommended Way of Making Money Online:
BYE BYE PTC
PTC stands for Paid To Click and that’s what the ads are about. Members were able to make anywhere from less than a penny to a few pennies just to click on ads and viewing them on their screen for 15 seconds up to 1 minute, depending on the ad.
Another thing they removed is the ClixGrid which also involves clicking on ads but you didn’t earn anything unless you clicked on a lucky square on the grid that can earn you $5 or $10. That’s all gone now.
ClixSense has removed the PTC portion of their business because the owner claims it wasn’t profitable for them.
It’s also a reason why PayPal had pulled their account back in February, 2017. Too many fly by night PTC sites were scamming people and made it a nightmare for PayPal to have these merchant accounts.
However, ClixSense is a legitimate company and running an honest business but those other scamming PTC sites have made ClixSense lose their PayPal merchant account even after 7 good standing years with PayPal.
Since then, you can get paid by ClixSense only through these options:
- Payoneer
- Skrill
- Tango Card
- Payza
- Check
The owner claims the removal of PTC off their site is not because of losing their PayPal account, but I’m sure this has impacted their business greatly as PayPal is so widely used.
OTHER CHANGES
There are other changes in addition to removing PTC portion of their business:
- Removal of different levels of membership – there used to be a Premium membership level along with a corresponding 8-level commission structure, this has all been removed.
- Minimum cashout for all members is $10.00 – I believe this has been lowered to $10.00 payout, think it used to be higher.
- Affiliate commissions upped to 20% for all members – this is to compensate for the membership changes so now everyone is on the same playing field and earning the same percentage.
- Checklist bonus will now pay a maximum of 16% if all requirements met
With all these changes and PTC being out, there are still a lot of updating ClixSense needs to do on their site. For example, all the FAQs are based on their old payout structure so the above changes still needs to be updated on their site.
Hopefully in the next month or so, everything will be updated and reflect the new ClixSense going forward.
WHAT’S NEXT
Without PTC on ClixSense, what else is there to do to make money on the site?
I will go into that in the next section.
CAN YOU STILL MAKE MONEY WITH CLIXSENSE?
After removing PTC from the site, you can still make money on ClixSense by doing the following:
- Filling Out Surveys
- Completing Tasks
- Taking on Offers
- Referring Others
Filling Out Surveys
ClixSense offers many different surveys everyday for you to fill out. Some will take 5 mins and others can take up to an hour of your time.
You can make about $0.30 to a few dollars on a survey, it all depends on where the survey is from and how long it takes you to complete it.
ClixSense works with many different survey networks so the payout can differ even if it takes the same amount of time to fill out.
Completing Tasks
You can complete simple tasks to make money on ClixSense. These tasks are usually quite simple like “Categorize popular product names” or doing searches on the internet, etc.
You will get paid accordingly on the task which is all monitored by CrowdFlower which is a separate login but also connected to the ClixSense platform.
If you earn $50 from completing tasks, you get a $5 bonus!
Taking on Offers
Offers are usually something you need to take action on, either you doing some kind of voting, or install something like an app, or signing up for some service.
Besides the ClixOffers, there are 13 other networks that ClixSense work with so you will never run out of offers to take on.
Referring Others
If you refer others to ClixSense, you will make money that way too.
When you sign up at ClixSense, you’ll get a referral link (aka affiliate link) that looks like this:
http://www.clixsense.com/?10643808
This is located under “Affiliate Details” after you log in. You can use that link to send to your friends and family or promote it on social media.
When they sign up, this is what you earn:
“$2.00 commission on first $5.00 earned from their new affiliate.
$0.30 signup commission on new active affiliates in top tier countries.
$0.10 signup commission on new active affiliates in other countries.”
Also, you can earn 20% of all the tasks, offers, and surveys they do as well, and there’s no limit to how much you can earn here.
IS CLIXSENSE STILL WORTH YOUR TIME?
From the time I’ve signed up and tried some of the surveys, I would have to say it’s not worth your time because there are several times where I would find out I don’t even qualify for the survey after spending 15-20 mins already on the survey!
It was not just me, on their forum, I found a thread that several other members also experience this same thing:
Other than surveys, I didn’t like taking on the offers because I don’t want to use services or install crap on my phone that I don’t already use, and for what? A few pennies?
Same with the tasks, not sure how many tasks you’ll have to do or spend your time on to earn that $50 but each task is like pennies as well to maybe a dollar if you’re lucky.
So, in my opinion, doing surveys, tasks, and offers on ClixSense is NOT worth your time for the following reasons:
- You are basically being paid $5-$6/hour, if that.
- You won’t generate an income you can depend on, even in the long run.
- You’ll always be chasing the money instead of building an asset that will generate money for you.
Then what should you do? Read on.

Thanks for your review on the Clixsense changes, I didn’t know there were that many. Wonder if they will survive this change. The surveys doesn’t look good either, I may have to check out Wealthy Affiliate then.
Appreciate your info.
Ernie
You’re very welcome Ernie, and I’m glad I can shed some light on the latest changes at ClixSense! People are still using it but I’m not sure if they will like doing the surveys, tasks, and offers. That is why building your online business is a much better route because it’ll be sustainable long term and you’re in control.
I hope to see you on the inside of Wealthy Affiliate! It’s free to join so you have nothing to lose to check it out. 🙂
These ptc sites are a joke. Ive tried dozens of them and have not made one cashout. It will take you a year probably to make like 10 bucks. Unless you sit there clicking ads all day everyday. Youll make way more money picking and recycling trash cans and bottles. Lol @ 6 bucks an hr doing ptc…more l like 50 cents an hr…if that
Hi Kent,
Thanks for your thoughts! The $6/hr was referring to surveys, not PTC, I know you do probably make less than that on those PTC sites. I wouldn’t do any of the PTC, surveys, etc.
What I did recommend above is building your own business that can generate you a consistent monthly income and even job replacing if you work hard at it.
One place to learn to build this kind of business is using the training at Wealthy Affiliate, I hope you will give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by,
Grace
Thanks for let us know.
I have try to advertise on clixsense but i see they already remove Advertiser Section.

Great review by the way.
Nelly.

Grace
