Top 10 Wealthy Affiliate Tips For You To Find Greater Success!

Like any program out there that you join, there are ways to better your chances of success and today I want to share my Wealthy Affiliate tips with you to help you in your online journey.

I have been with Wealthy Affiliate as a Premium member since Sept 2016 and from what I’ve seen around the training platform, I can offer you these tips to you to help you get a better start.

If you don’t know how to make money online or know anything about affiliate marketing, Wealthy Affiliate is certainly a wise choice to learn and get yourself started in building an online business and free to start too.

Although a great training program, new members can get a bit lost with the overwhelming amount of information and resources to learn from so with my tips, I hope to help get you started easier and on the right foot.

TOP 10 WEALTHY AFFILIATE TIPS

TIP #1) START WITH THE FREE STARTER MEMBERSHIP

This is NOT a free trial and in fact, you can keep and stay with your free Starter membership for as long as you want.

Many people mistake this and call it a free trial when it’s not, it’s a free membership that has a 7 day time period where you can test out the Premium membership features so this portion of the free Starter membership is a free trial.  Not the Starter membership itself.

After your first 7 days, you can continue with your free Starter membership OR you can upgrade to Premium.

Starter memberships come with 2 free websites and the first 10 lessons of the main courses.

I tell people to always start with the free Starter membership because you will get a heavy discount on your first Premium month if you do!

Instead of signing up as a Premium immediately from the get-go, sign up as a Starter member then upgrade to Premium if you like the training program.

You can still make money with the Starter membership but it will be much harder because you won’t have all the knowledge necessary to build this business.

If you don’t have the rest of the training to teach you how to build your online business, then how will you successfully build an online business and make money?

 

TIP #2) PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP IS A MUST IF YOU’RE SERIOUS ABOUT MAKING MONEY

Every business has a cost, the Premium membership will be your cost for your online business which is so much cheaper than a lot of on or offline businesses.

The membership is really reasonable since it includes your cost for training, web hosting (state of the art hosting too!), keyword research tool, weekly live webinars, and amazing support from other members, a technical team, & the owners themselves.

The Premium membership is only $19 for the first month if you upgrade within the first 7 days, then $49/month or $359/year (super savings of $229/year!) thereafter.

The only thing it doesn’t include is custom domain names which is a $15 per year cost on the platform but you don’t have to buy it there.  You can buy it cheaper elsewhere and still host it at Wealthy Affiliate.

Domain names are assets you will own yourself, so you must buy these separately no matter where you go for training.

If you’re serious about making money online, you will need the Premium membership as this opens up the entire platform for you and gives you all the training you’ll ever need.

 

 

TIP #3) FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE

When you first join Wealthy Affiliate, you will have a profile page where you can upload your image and write a short description of yourself.

It is important to complete your profile because you will be part of a huge community on the platform and asking for help will be easier this way.

 

 

Everyone who will interact with you will be able to get to know you a little better and recognize you quicker if you have a profile image uploaded and your description filled out.

Your profile image does not need to be a photo of yourself, it can be of anything.  Your bio could be as short or as long as you want, so it’s up to you what you put in the profile description.

 

TIP #4) START WITH THE GREEN BUTTON

You sign up for Wealthy Affiliate for one reason: to learn how to make money online so start with their MAIN course which is located at the Green button on the left menu of your dashboard.

 

 

I’ve seen so many times that new members do not start here and they go and search for making money training by other members.  Or they look for other ways to monetize your site, etc.

Guys, if you don’t build your online business with a strong foundation and build it right from the start, it won’t matter how you monetize your site, it won’t make money.

This is why it’s so important to start with the main course and follow it step-by-step as you go through it.

The main course is called Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) course and it will teach you everything you need to know to build an online business using the affiliate marketing model in the topic of your choice.

It will lay out how to build your site right, what needs to be done first, what needs to be done next and so on.

This course is laid out a certain way to do certain things at a particular time which is a recipe for a strong foundation for your online business.

 

TIP #5) DON’T SKIP AROUND THE LESSONS & DO ALL THE TASKS

With all the info available to read and learn on the training platform, it’s important that you stay on course with the OEC lessons.

Focus on the lesson you’re on and do the tasks listed at the end of each lesson.  Taking action will allow you to build your online business along with your learning and keeps you moving forward and building.

 

 

People may be tempted to skip ahead or pause to look at some other trainings on the platform but I tell you, do not do this.

Your focus on the main course is imperative and if you finish this course, then awesome, go on with all the other trainings on the platform because by then you’ll have a fully functioning site and maybe even making some little money already.

Learn how to walk before you learn how to run.

TIP #6) ASK QUESTIONS

There is so much help and there are so many ways to ask for help, so if you’re ever stuck on a lesson or task, please do not hesitate to ask your questions.

Here are the ways to ask for help:

• At the end of each lesson – there’s a discussion thread to ask questions.
• “Ask A Question” blog can be submitted – this is great to get many people’s opinions on a topic and provides the greatest exposure.  “Ask A Question” is located at the end of each lesson (bottom right) and it’s located on the top right Pen Tool menu.

 

 

• Live Chat – this is awesome for asking urgent questions and get instant answers from other members online.
• Private Messaging – 1-on-1 help from another member or you can ask the owner this way.
• Member Profiles – You can go on someone’s profile to ask them a question as well.
• Site Support – For technical issues about your website, they have a 24/7 support team to help you get through our issues.

If you have a question, chances are, it has already been answered so search your question first in the Wealthy Affiliate search bar up top before asking your question.

 

TIP #7) USE THE SITE COMMENT OR COMMENT THREAD FEATURES

Google loves seeing engagement on your blog posts, but it’s hard to get comments when your site is new so Wealthy affiliate has a feature where members can offer each other comments.

One place you can do that at is called Site Comments, if you have enough Wealthy Affiliate Credits, you can just buy comments from other members.

 

 

If you don’t have credits, you just have to comment on other members’ sites first in order to get one for you.  I believe you have to give two comments to earn one.

Site Comments is used for members’ sites that are hosted on the Wealthy Affiliate platform.

Some members don’t have their sites hosted there so if that’s the case, there’s a comments discussion thread where you can paste your blog post link on and ask for comments there.

This is a great way to get comments on your blog posts and show search engines you have good engagement on your site.

 

CREATE YOUR FREE ACCOUNT

 

TIP #8) USE THE SITE FEEDBACK OR FEEDBACK THREAD FEATURE

This works similar to Site Comments but this is about getting feedback on how well you are developing your website.

You are here to get feedback from other members to see if you need to improve anything on your site and what changes can be done to make it better.

This is a great way to see if you’re on the right track and have others point out things you didn’t notice yourself.

It’s about constructive criticism and all members that participate are there to help you make your site even better.

 

 

TIP #9) USE THE WEALTHY AFFILIATE BLOG FEATURE

Writing blogs on your own website is basically your online business but did you know that on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, you can blog on there too?

Why use this feature?

You may think you’re already writing a lot on your own site, so why would you write more on the WA platform??

It’s because your WA blog posts get ranked very quickly and highly on Google as WA has a high domain authority, so if someone clicked on your WA content from Google and signs up, that person will be your referral and if that person upgrades to Premium, you make a commission!

You also earn 2 credits worth $1 in total when your referrals upload an image and write a profile description (back to Tip #3!).

You also earn another 2 credits worth $1 in total if that referral buys domains on the platform.

TIP #10) THE SECRET TO SUCCESS: THE THREE P’s

Building an online business is not the hardest task, the start may seem hard, but like anything new to you, it’s always going to seem harder and scarier than you think.

Once you have it down and you’ve finished the OEC course, you will need the Three P’s to continue your journey to success.

There’s really no secret to success, it’s all about your work, your commitment, and your drive but if you can add the three P’s to that, then you’ll be building a fantastic online business that will sustainable in the long run.

The Three P’s are: Patience, Perseverance, & Persistence – let’s take a closer look at what each one means.

Patience:

• This is an online business you’re building which means it will take time, so be patient with your business as you won’t see yourself earning thousands of dollars in the first 6 months.
• This is not a get rich quick scheme, Google doesn’t even rank you til you’re in your 3-4 months and depending how often you publish new content, it can take even longer.
• Mind your own business – don’t get impatient if you see others earning faster than you, what you may not know is that, that member could me writing a post a day while you’re only writing 4 a month.
• Do what you can, it’s all about balance as you have other parts of your life to deal with as well.  Come up with a schedule that you can manage and still build your online business on a steady, consistent schedule.

Perseverance:

• Don’t let roadblocks stop you, get through the issue and move on to the next one.
• If you can’t find the answer, keep looking.  You will find a solution.
• Things will go wrong, you will run into obstacles, it’s a matter of how you’ll get through them.
• Keep a positive mindset and you’ll come out stronger each time.

Persistence:

• DO NOT GIVE UP.
• If you give up, then that’s it, you’ll never know how your online business would have done.
• I’ve seen so many successful members say to keep moving forward, keep writing, keep posting, and you’ll find results.
• I find this to be very true, as my site is one year old now, the traffic continues to increase as I keep adding new content, and thus so is my income.
• You have a proven path with the right training, if you feel something isn’t working right, then go over the lessons again to see why or ask for help.
• You will be able to find success if you follow the training and keep building your site.

If you can practice the three P’s, your online business will succeed in time and will make you the kind of money you’re hoping for from your online business, whatever that may be.
