Insight On My Online Business

I’m going to give you a little bit more insight into how long it took me to earn this much money when I’ve earned this money, and how I’ve earned this money.

I have been in this particular business since September of 2016. 

You might think that $102,000 in 4 years is really not that impressive, it is only 25 grand each year, but if you think about how online income actually works I actually didn’t make most of that money till the last two and a half years of this journey. 

In my first year and a half of my journey, I didn’t make a lot of money.

I’m just a stay-at-home mom. I do this so that I can stay at home with my kids.  

When I started this journey my kids were much younger, obviously, now they’re four years older and they’re in grade school and so I have a lot more time to do this business now.

Also, this represents how making money online works. 

If you hear a lot of gurus saying that you know they made a lot of money in 30 days, what you don’t know is that they probably have been in this business for years.

I’m going to be the one kind of giving you the truth about how long it could take to make money from an online business.

It may have been because I’m a mom so I’m really busy and I didn’t dedicate as much time as I could have since the beginning. 

As I kept going it kept working more and more and then it went exponential.

That’s why a lot of people that go into trying to build online businesses quit because they have no idea what could happen if you keep going. 

I didn’t even make three digits a month till my 12th month in this business but about five to six months after that, it started climbing. 

By the 18th month, I hit my first thousand dollars per month, and then it went up from there.  

Then I started making money regularly, consistently, and so forth but to get to that point a lot of people quit. 

Also, a lot of people don’t know how long it takes but it just takes longer because there’s so much to learn.

There are definitely more things to do to earn an income online than one may think. then just like going There are not a lot of quick ways to make money unless you use ads that I did not use in my journey. 

This money comes from affiliate marketing and that’s all passive and the other is active income.

You could also earn passively to a certain degree because you are earning from the work that you do over and over again.

You’re able to earn while you sleep because your business is on the internet. 

That’s why having an online business is awesome. 

It does take a little time to build up but once it’s built up you can earn consistent money.

 

 

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning commissions from generating new sales, leads, sign up, or a call for a company or brand. 

You get you to earn commissions when you promote other people’s products. For example, Apple, its computers, phones, etc.

If I were to refer somebody to the Apple brand and I have an affiliate link from them I could be earning from somebody who clicks on my affiliate link and buys a laptop or a phone.

That’s a new sale but there are other companies that offer this.

Who has certain stipulations such as if you could get somebody to submit an email then you could get a dollar for each email.

 These are called cost per action basically you could earn per action so you could collect emails from people so you don’t have to sell anything you don’t have to tell them to buy anything and you still earn money.

You could get people to sign up to a certain website and you can still earn and there are many other sign-up type sites like referral sites do this all the time.

Also, businesses such as credit card debt or some kind of loan type of company will have these types of affiliate programs, where you just get somebody on the phone for like 30 seconds and then you get to earn like 40 bucks or 50 dollars. 

I’ve seen affiliate programs like that, which are very lucrative. 

The benefits of having or using affiliate marketing are that you don’t need a product because there are tons of products already out there. 

For example, there’s Amazon with thousands of products on there that you can promote so you don’t need a product so it’s very beginner-friendly in that sense.

This is why this business model is very simple for somebody that is brand new in this work you don’t deal with customers or clients so you don’t have to deal with customer service.

You don’t have anybody banging on your door for anything being a shop owner basically you have to deal with shipping refunds and exchanges.

The only thing you do deal with is just the refund part meaning like you do get a subtraction of commissions if somebody refunds. 

When somebody buys you get a commission if they return it you get subtracted. 

You don’t have to actually deal with the actual process of refunds or exchanges, you don’t have to deal with inventory, you don’t have to deal with vendors.

Before affiliate marketing, I was doing things like selling handmade goods and it was really tedious and difficult.

I was dealing with all this stuff plus a lot more that goes into here, that’s why I felt marketing was such a cool thing for me because it was a lot simpler. 

 

 

How Affiliate Marketing Works

Let’s go through how affiliate marketing works so that you can also get started so how it works is that you’re going to pick a niche. 

You want to find a topic or area that you’re really interested in because or else you’re going to be all over the place.

You want your business to be focused on a certain niche so you want to find the companies or brands that are in that niche that offer affiliate programs. 

Then you can find out what kind of products are in that niche for you to promote.

You sign up with the best ones you have to read all the affiliate programs how they work and make sure you are getting the best rates.

Once you find the company and brands of your choice then you want to just sign up with them and get approval.

Approval is not always required so you may be able to sign up right away and then just get started. 

The next step is you get your affiliate link and you promote your affiliate links and then you make money. When somebody actually clicks on your affiliate link and takes action that triggers a commission so that’s how you make money. 

    

How Did I Promote My Affiliate Links?

How you promote is going to be one of the biggest things that you’re going to need to learn in affiliate marketing.

It is all about driving traffic. 

Using affiliate marketing or building an affiliate marketing business is one of the traditional ways to drive traffic. 

The content that you put on your website gets ranked on search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. When you are on a search engine then visitors can search you out so that’s very powerful.

When you have that combination and you get ranked on Google’s first page you will get a ton of traffic coming to your website and if you have really good content people will be clicking on your affiliate links and buying from you.

I had to pick a niche to make money online because I teach other people how to do it as well. 

I created content on how to do this and I talked about affiliate marketing and different types of ways to make money online.

Also, how this works and everything so a bunch of content then added affiliate links to that content.

 I waited for google to rank my posts and once my posts are ranked then visitors come to my website. 

They were clicking on my links and started buying from my links and that’s how I’ve been making money from my affiliate website. 

I also started my YouTube channel as well to drive traffic because YouTube is also another search engine type of vehicle that you can use to drive traffic.

So all the videos that you are creating on youtube can get ranked on YouTube and also get traffic that way once it’s ranked and once your stuff is ranked on the internet it could last years sometimes.  

You could be earning for like over and over again from the work that you do for years to come and that’s why building an online business is amazing. 

I do the same thing with TikTok so I use TikTok as well to drive traffic to my website and to YouTube.

In the second platform, you’re really focused on paid traffic, sales funnels, YouTube, or TikTok, and email marketing, that’s mostly what they are teaching and training people to use in their online business. 

I found this platform only last year and I actually didn’t use this platform that much last year. Until this year, I used it a little more if you have less time and more money you should definitely learn from this platform.
