Learning how to blog to make money has never been easier and nowadays you can make money at home online in your pajamas if you want to! Oh how the world has changed!
It all starts with a computer or laptop and an internet connection. With so many households now with that set up, anyone can start blogging and make money from home.
But, not everyone knows how to do this.
It sounds easy and it will be, but at the beginning, there is plenty to learn, just like anything else you want to try that’s new.
Here are some things you’ll need to know:
- What Do You Need Besides Computer/Laptop and Wifi?
- What Do You Write About?
- How Do You Get People To Read Your Blog?
- How Do You Make Money With It?
- All You Need is ONE Place!
WHAT DO YOU NEED BESIDES COMPUTER/LAPTOP & WIFI?
Now that you’re not the internet, what else you do you need? The actual blog itself right? Yes!
How you get this is by starting with a website and then you need a content management system (CMS) to house your blog.
You will need to start by getting your own domain. Domains are not free anywhere you go, you must start with a great domain name which you can check out this post here on how to choose one.
However, if you read on, there’s a great place where you can start with 2 free websites (using a subdomain at SiteRubix.com) if you want to test the waters and when you feel more comfortable you can transfer it to your own domain in very simple steps.
As for the blog itself, most everyone who blogs uses WordPress as their CMS, it’s not hard to learn and there are a lot of help and support available for it.
You will also need the necessary plugins for it too when you first start out.
All these technical pieces of the puzzle can be done easily at one place, keep reading…
WHAT DO YOU WRITE ABOUT?
Writing blog posts that grabs your audience’s attention is key to anything you put out there. How do you do that and what do you write about?
You need to first start with a niche for your site. What’s a niche? It’s a group of audience that you’ll be writing to. Will your blog be about fishing, golf, how to cook, or what?
There are so many topics to choose from and if you’re a mom or dad, I have 10 topic ideas right here.
How you choose your niche is critical to the success of your blog. Then, the way you write will be the other important aspect to the success of your blog.
Do you know your audience pain points? Are you helping them solve problems? These are questions that you need to ask yourself when you write your blog posts.
The content on your blog will be critical to your success, so you should learn the best way to write and I have the one place you need, keep reading…
HOW DO YOU GET PEOPLE TO READ YOUR BLOG?
If you don’t have traffic, you don’t have an audience. If you don’t have an audience, you can’t make money. It’s as simple as that.
So where do you get the traffic from? Well, there are free and paid traffic but who wants to pay for traffic in the beginning right? Wouldn’t you rather learn how to write content that can generate its own traffic from search engines?
This is where keywords come in. Keywords play a vital role in your content that will drive people to your site and to your posts.
You can also get free traffic from social media like Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Instagram, and
If you don’t know anything about how to find keywords, what keywords are, and how to pick them, then you definitely need to be at the one place below, keep reading…
HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH IT?
There are several ways you can monetize your blog but the best way I want to tell you about is the affiliate marketing model!
It’s used by many blogs and some of the best in the business, like Pat Flynn, has generated over two million in affiliate commissions in a year, that’s six figures a month!
Why this model is so popular is because when you’re writing a blog posts, you will be able to recommend products to your audience when you’re helping them “solve problems”, remember what I said above?
Affiliate marketing in its simplest terms is the ability to make a commission when someone buys from your recommendation, a product owned by someone else.
I have learned how to build my affiliate marketing business with this one place, keep reading…

Let’s make money online!
Hi there, thank you for this easy to understand post about creating a website.
May I ask for your recommendation, what should I done if I have already started a website with a very competitive niche.
I choose it because I like the topic very much, so it is easier for me to write content..but I feel that the niche is so saturated and crowded.
What say you?
Being in a competitive niche doesn’t mean you won’t succeed, it may just take you a little longer, but the most important is being able to use low competition keywords. If you can do that, you will get traffic and be able to compete with the other blogs. When you use low competition keywords, it means not many websites are using the same ones so that you’ll be able to rank for them easier. Not all blogs use the same keywords, you just have to find the ones you competitors are not using.
You can learn how to use low competition keywords at Wealthy Affiliate, this is one of the techniques they teach and show you how to do it easily! Hope you sign up and check out all the lessons they have. 🙂
All the best to you,
Grace
There is so many free information out there. As a beginner, it is hard to find the best place to start, or the best or subject to learn. I enjoy reading your blog and it gives me confidence that it could more easy than I thought. Do you think Wealthy Affiliate is a good place to start if I plan on buying and selling items online? I would love to hear your thoughts?
Thank you and have a great day!
Hi Jonathan, thanks for visiting and glad you found this post useful to you.
If you were to buy and sell items online, Wealthy Affiliate may not be the best place for that because they teach affiliate marketing, which is the promotion of other people’s products, you never own the products.
However, you can learn a lot there still regarding how to build your website, have your website hosted on top secured networks, and learn how to write traffic generating content so that you get organic traffic to your site.
So on the website building side of things, the lessons will still be relevant to you as well as how to target your audience.
Hope this helps!
Grace
Hello Grace,
The blogging can be a challenge, especially at the beginning when we are newbies and we are wondering what to write about and how to write it.
That is why I agree that Wealthy Affiliate is the online “Harvard”, the one unparalleled place where one can learn how to blog like a boss.
What is your biggest challenge as a blogger?
Hi Asen, thanks for your message and so glad you feel the same about Wealthy Affiliate as I do! Never thought of it that way, but they sure are the “Harvard” of online training!
My biggest challenge as a blogger is getting that organic traffic, which is partly in my control but ultimately it’s up to the search engines. My second challenge is doing review posts, those seem to be the ones I shy away from but I know I have to face them and do even more reviews.
Thanks for your question!
Grace
Grace Dear, the best about your style of writing is that you write in a very simplified manner while making things look darn easy when they are actually not. Blogging itself is a highly competitive niche where you have been churning out awesome posts days in and days out with your command over the subject. We get to learn so much from your posts that we forego the idea of joining any tutorials on blogging.
(Regards)
Barnali
Thank you Barnali for your kind words, I just write as if I speaking so it’s actually nothing complicated about how I write. Appreciate you continually following my blog and grateful that you can learn from my posts. I hope to continue to write lots of great articles for you to learn from. 🙂
Best,
Grace
